Hi Janet,
There is a filter drawer at top of Spirit 1 gate. Filter requirements
are outlined in the Customer Manual Section 3.4.3. The Effects Filter
Case FH6910 is a part of standard accessories for SDC2002 (Spirit 1).
The manual gives contents of basic kit (White and Black Super Mist
filters ranging in density of .25 to 5).
The Spirit 2k/4k also has provisions for filter use and is explained in
the Customer Manual in Section 2.7.
Please do not put in loose filters or foreign objects because they might
fall into the machine, but use the Thomson supplied filter holder
instead to hold filters. Proper usage is outlined in the customer
manual.
Disclaimer: I work for Thomson Grass Valley. Please consult customer
manual for details regarding filter use. Do not remove gate from Sprit 1
without first removing filter.
Regards,
Craig

Is there any way to put optical filters or other types of diffusion into
the
Spirit? We used to do it all the time on the Ranks I've worked on in
the
past, but I have never tried on the Spirit, and I have a client
requesting
it. He is not interested in any type of digital diffusion.
Thanks in advance!
