Hah! Shades of my high school physics teacher (yes, a long time ago) who
taught us that during winter all domestic electricity except heating came
free of charge. Simple logic really - whether it's light, refrigeration, the
vacuum cleaner, or an electric drill, the energy all eventually converts to
heat, thereby cutting the thermostatically controlled heating out a little
earlier.
I'm convinced global warming IS a reality, though it's a slow trend in the
context of a lot of higher frequency noise (climate versus weather if you
like). But it is not a straightforward problem, so almost invariably it is
reduced to nonsense by governments, utilities, the media, advertisers and
almost everyone else.
But not here of course;-)
