Not an absurd distinction, since the processing needed to bring the image up
to 35mm standards significantly differentiates it from, say, a one-light
transfer. We do a lot of IMAX film work, where the trend is to use 4-perf and
8-perf 35mm (VistaVision) in the same way as s16 to 35mm. After we're done with a
shot, it's usually pretty much indistiguishable from a 15-perf 65mm original.
Normal DI processes may not be quite as thorough as that, but can make a big
difference nonetheless.
